An Intellectual Study of Imtiaz Ali Taj’sTabazad Plays

Abstract

Syed Imtiaz Ali Taj was a prominent playwright in history of Urdu
literature. His Drama Anarkali is considered masterpiece in the history of Urdu
Drama.In his Dramas he portraits historical, social and cultural facts in artistic
manner.He illustrates the problems of man with humanistic approach.Although
the main themes of Anarkali are romantic and historical but in this play he
elaborates the different shades of human psyche and traits in socio historical
background. In his other several plays he has shed light on the cultural,
political and economical aspects of life. In this research paper the researchers
have fully explained the intellectual and thematic background of Taj Dramas in
full detail.
